"Our story...Gradually, like the turning of the season, there came to be among women an ancient knowing, a powerful compassion and deep longing. They ached to gather by a common fire again to recall themselves unto themselves; these courageous hearts, recalling the voices of the Grandmothers, where the first call came, calls for women of the people to gather. So, when the soft sighs of summer gave way to the first chill breaths of autumn, the women came.

They came to heal, to dance, to remember those parts of themselves, exquisite and innocent, tired and worn. The came to raise up their grieving, yet glorious song, until it shattered the holy silence of the night sky. And from these women who gathered, from circle after circle, came the very first steps, the dances of forever more"

....Cath Johnson, 3rd Annual Harvest.

The Harvest celebration is a woman’s time out - so important and so absent from our busy lives. It is an extraordinary gathering where a precious kinship is forged through the beautiful and soulful reflection of each other.

Each day begins with an awareness of the energies that are moving in us, and an acknowledgment of their need for our attention. The process that unfolds is rooted in these energies, both personal and collective, and is, ultimately, a mystery. Our task is simply to open and allow. A personal story may emerge, an inner longing, a collective theme, or the awareness that an elk’s bugle from across the meadow is calling us. Mornings may find us in council, in dialogue, in silence or in song. Afternoons may find us exploring the Blacktail caves, hiking the ridges and meadows, or wading through the streams and catching butterflies. The day may find us under a tree with a journal, asleep in a hammock, or engaging in artistic or creative expressions as communion with others flows seamlessly. Evenings may find us in ecstatic dance around the fire as in the ageless celebrations of the harvest and solstice. We may be in a circle of healing, or watching the brilliance of the Northern lights.

No day or evening is the same, yet every experience is part of a tapestry woven with love that affirms our feminine divinity and strengthens our lives.
